Finish Line: Halifax Marathon--1924
At the 1924 Halifax Marathon (known as the "Halifax Herald Modified Marathon"), Victor MacAuley (left) finished first, Silas second (centre) and Ronald O'Toole of Newfoundland (right) third. Victor and Silas had been neighbours in Hants County--Victor lived in East Noel and Silas lived on the border of Noel and East Noel. He was a five time winner of the Halifax Marathon--a feat that was never surpassed (a list of the race winners from 1907 to 1982 is found here).
